Salary

Q. Why are salaries not determined by knowledge (or expertise)?

A. Dilbert's "Salary Theorem" which states that "Engineers and scientists can never earn as much as business executives and sales people."

Proof
This theorem can now be supported by a mathematical equation based on the following two postulates: (which we all accept as true)
Postulate 1: Knowledge is Power.
Postulate 2: Time is Money.

1. As every engineer and scientist knows:
Power = Work/Time
2. Since: Knowledge = Power and Time = Money,
3. then: Knowledge =Work/Money
4. Solving for Money, we get:
Money= Work/Knowledge.
5. Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity, regardless of the amount of workdone.

6. Conclusion: The less you know, the more you make.
